Youth Olympic Games
Singapore will be hosting the Singapore Youth Olympics Games from 14 to 26 August 2010, next year. Our school is proud to present a write up on Cyprus, which is one of the participating countries.
Overview
Location :Cyprus is an island that is located in the eastern Mediterranean. It is also known as the ‘Island of Love’ that gave birth to Aphrodite, the Greek Mythological Goddess of love.
Weather : Its weather is typically Mediterranean where summers are really hot and dry, while winters can be cold and wet.
Safety : Crime rates are also low and some people don’t even bother locking their houses and cars.
Places of interest: It is a very popular tourist place offering beautiful beaches, awesome historical sites, abundant wildlife, pottery, silver and copperware, basket weaving, tapestry and Lefkara's famous lacework.
