On 11 March 2010 Thursday, 181 pupils were invested as prefects in a solemn yet dignified ceremony. After the principal's address, the Head Prefect gave a short speech and led the prefects in the Prefects' Pledge. Head Prefect's Speech 2010
Good morning Mr Koh, Mr Goh, teachers and friends and may God bless everyone. I am Riley Liew from class 6-3 and I am honoured to be appointed as the Head Prefect this year.
Being an Anthonian Leader in Primary 2 and a prefect since Primary 3, I have learnt that being a prefect is a meaningful yet difficult job. It is not easy to juggle studies and prefectorial duties. It is also not easy to win the hearts and minds of all Anthonians and get you to listen to us.
However, the rewards that I have obtained as a prefect far outweigh the difficulties. A smile on a teacher’s face and a word of ‘thanks’ from a fellow Anthonian make all our efforts worthwhile.
Today, we are here to be invested as your prefects and we promise to do our best and embody the school values of Integrity, Respect and Compassion.
The Prefectorial Board has made plans to improve the welfare of all Anthonians. We are currently coming up with plans to raise funds for the renovations of our school facilities and we plan to organize workshops for all Anthonians on Peer Mediation.
We welcome all your suggestions on how we can help you and we hope to be a Prefectorial Board that all of you can be proud of.
Thank you.
