Twinning Programme

The school organized the Immersion Programme for P5 pupils to Hangzhou Cai He No. 1 Primary School to expose them to overseas educational trip that goes beyond the classroom. This trip has strengthened the relationship between both schools, which led to both schools signing a 2-year Memorandum of Understanding to twin with each other in July 2008. There are a series of a follow-up exchange visit by teachers and pupils from both schools. Pupils have at least 3 days of classroom and school immersion programme to gain a better understanding about local culture and teachers from both schools exchange ideas and teaching resources.

Little Reporter Programme for P3 to P6 pupils

The Young Reporters’ Programme is a platform that provides Anthonians from P2 to P6 the opportunity to experience journalism firsthand. It aims to develop Anthonians in their communications skills in public speaking, and to bolster their self-esteem.

After a 3-day training camp held in November 2008, the participants have so far put their interviewing skills to practice in the following fields:

  • Exhibition on History of Chinese Schools in Malaya and Singapore held in Chinese High School (Nov 2008). They had the opportunity to come up, close and personal to dialogue and interview the organising committee, Principals of Chinese Schools, officers from MOE as well as Minister of Health, Mr Kaw Boon Wan.
  • Chinese New Year Celebration in school (Jan 2009)

We hope that these young reporters will hone the skills taught and cover stories close to home like school food drives, sports and community events.
